View from the gardens above Chowpatty Beach

Chowpatty Beach is like an every-night circus, with rides, food etc. Just don't go for a swim.

Chowpatty, what a funny name..

By the way, you know how in India cows are special? Is there many cow poos around, or do they clean up after them pretty well?

Well, in the original Vedic culture they weren't that special, they were revered as the basis of life there, but were sacrificed and eaten still.

As hinduism developed the cows were seen as mothers (pretty important in Hindu culture), giving milk and feeding the population. You wouldn't kill your mother, would you?

Well to be honest, that's just one answer I heard. Ask a simple question about Hinduism and you'll get three different answers.

Since it's more like a living mythology than a codified religion there's no hard and fast answer for anything.

This may sound frustrating, but try and answer a question about why - some people anyway - call English people Pommy's, and the answer in the end is because we do.
